The Sheds Woollamia Precinct

Jervis Bay, NSW – Friday 12 June 2026
By Shoalhaven Food Network

This June, Bay and Bush Nature Retreat invites guests to experience A Taste of the Hive — a unique apiary and honey tasting experience held in The Mill Shed overlooking our working bee hives in Jervis Bay. As part of the upcoming Food Network event series — The Sheds Woollamia Precinct, this intimate experience offers a sensory journey connecting guests with nature, sustainability, and local flavour.

Hosted by one of our beekeepers, guests will learn about the important role bees play in pollination and the environment, while discovering Bay and Bush’s Bee School and sustainability initiatives. A live bee frame display will offer a safe and fascinating close-up look at bees in action, with views across the apiary throughout the experience.

Guests will enjoy a guided tasting of our exclusive honey, paired with a seasonal café dish and beverage inspired by our barefoot luxury philosophy and local produce. The experience also highlights how honey is incorporated into dishes served at The Café.

Guests will leave with a deeper appreciation for bees, local produce, and the surrounding landscape, along with the opportunity to purchase our limited honey release.

The Sheds Woollamia Full-day Tour, Long Lunch and Cocktail Hour is a one-of-a-kind culinary and behind-the-scenes experience celebrating the makers, growers, brewers, distillers and innovators shaping Jervis Bay’s vibrant food and beverage scene. Guests will begin the day with a bus transfer from Huskisson Wharf to Bay and Bush Nature Retreat for an immersive apiary experience, before continuing to The Sheds Woollamia precinct for a guided walking tour through some of the South Coast’s most exciting local businesses.

Throughout the day, guests will enjoy exclusive access to five businesses including Jervis Bay Mariculture, Bakehouse Espresso Group, PhycoHealth Powered by Seaweed, Jervis Bay Distilling Co and Jervis Bay Brewing Co. Meet the founders, explore the technology and craftsmanship behind their products, and sample local flavours along the way while learning how these businesses are redefining sustainable food and beverage production in the region.

The experience culminates in a seafood-forward long table lunch at Jervis Bay Brewing Co, curated by chef Rowan Andrew using ingredients sourced from businesses within The Sheds precinct. The three-course menu celebrates creativity, sustainability and local produce, highlighted by a signature squid-ink pasta dish featuring ingredients from six different Sheds businesses.

Following lunch, guests will return to Huskisson Wharf for a relaxed cocktail hour hosted by Club Jervis Bay, featuring drinks and tapas to conclude a memorable day of food, storytelling and discovery.
